Does anyone know what year this video was shot? It's incredulous that Bruce has had 7 car accidents.

I've read his book Opening the Energy Gates of the Body (which was written over 10 years ago), and he refers to a car accident even at that time which he used chi kung to recover from.

That is truly amazing that he has had 7 car accidents. It seems almost statistically improbable.

It's Christmas and all, and I'm trying to be charitable but this is surely an exaggeration?

I like that he points out that with some people you can't stop their punches or move their arms but you can slightly change the direction they are going in.

Well, re car-accidents: yes, one huge and major and incredible, and then, as far as I remember, another six minor ones, several of which have been while sitting in someone else´s car and it getting hit. The first one was the biggie, and that he can walk at all, not to mention actually do some fighting-stuff still, is a testament to high-level qigong-practice done in huge amounts, and some will power from the deep end of the pool.

It's amazing what some people manage to do. The will power and strength of BKF is truly something you must respect, regardless of what you feel about what he teach or if you agree with it or not. One of the best taiji practitioners I have ever met, had a stroke so bad that half of his side was paralyzed. When I first met him, he had paracticed taijiquan for about 13 years. I was amazed by his story, because I could not imagine that he had had a stroke. He moved and talked perfectly well. His cure was nothing but taijiquan, not even "qigong" exercises. It was all taiji and nothing else, and he spent about three hours practicing every day. So, when you meet a person like him, or BKF, you can not really do anything else than start to believe that there is something really, really good in these arts.

My Tai Chi teacher shattered his ankle in a motorbike accident when young and was told he'd always walk with a limp.

You'd never know. He attributes that to Tai Chi practice.

Great content especially in the first clip but I have to ask--why the attitude towards his student?
