I Spent 24 Hours With Steven Seagal — Jesse Enkamp

Steven Seagal reveals fight secrets you don't see in movies! These Aikido and Karate techniques are used in MMA (mixed martial arts) by famous UFC fighters. Because the samurai did NOT practice submission grappling - like BJJ or modern Jiu-jitsu does. Watch until the end so you don't miss the best part!

Edit: Part 2

I trained 24 hours with Steven Seagal. He gave me a 'makiwara' (punching board) to condition my hands & knuckles. Although Aikido is not famous for striking, Sensei Seagal practices a martial art based on Japanese Jiu-jitsu. This includes punches and kicks. But unlike Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ), it doesn't involve submission grappling. Because the last place a samurai wants to be on the battlefield is the ground... Watch until the end for an epic surprise!

I've got to say..... that was a lot better than I was expecting!

I mean, he drifts off into mad conspiracy theory nonsense towards the end (as expected), but the bit where he talked about being non telegraphic was actually..... not bad.....

But, I think it's really important to watch this video straight after you've watched the Karate Nerd episode, just to get your perspective back - lol ;D ;D ;D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ3vZxr8sl4

That was good!

Nothing is perfect but agree that TMA does offers character building which can happen in MMA but in TMA it seems built in with respect to the teacher.

I have seen many a BJJ gym split from the main instructor. Nothing is wrong if someone wants to make a change but you do have to wonder.

Quite good. The story about the girl at the tournament is cautionary indeed.

Here's another cautionary tale about a girl and Seagal:

Another powerful man who thinks he is Above the Law.

Sorry couldn't resist...

Interesting what he was saying about ground fighting. Seems that here in the US when a fight goes to the ground and someone starts "to win" other people step in.

Rokas' comments on the video:

Martial Arts Journey

Many people asked me to breakdown Steven Seagal's meeting with @Jesse Enkamp asking if the techniques he demonstrated are effective and if the theory he presented is legit. Here's my breakdown, one relying on my decade of Aikido training, gathered knowledge from top self defense experts and my combat sports experience.

00:00 Is Steven Seagal's "Aikido" effective?
00:28 The best technique of Steven Seagal
00:44 Steven Seagal's punches are better
01:11 Steven Seagal's haymaker defense
01:40 Questionable striking defense?
02:05 The legendary front kick of Steven Seagal
02:43 Why these techniques are questionable
03:30 Steven Seagal's powerful punch
04:05 Does this takedown work?
04:29 Aikido takedown defense
05:03 Revolutionary fighting stance
05:49 Stepping on opponent's foot
06:11 Striking with the side of the hand
06:32 Deadly fingers
07:01 Severing the brain stem
07:31 Ending the fight immediately
07:42 Not training ground fighting
08:50 Aggressive Aikido style and why it makes sense
09:31 Teaching secret techniques
10:31 Teaching deadly techniques
11:34 Attacking first
12:08 Dealing with the law after attacking first
12:51 Outsmarting your opponent
13:24 Summary

Steven Seagal is my kung fu uncle in the Kenny Gong system. He trained privately with Master Gong for years after losing a challenge match. He co-wrote a terrible novel with my martial uncle that ventures into cowboys and Indians and the deep state.

Sad to see that dude still has Gene Lebelle on his mind.

At what point in life do you let things go?

Funny he talks down the US and now lives in Putin's Russia.

The US is far from perfect but Russia?

What does he say about "Indians?"

Curious what he thinks of my people.

Actually nevermind...

Seagal sought Russian citizenship after a few sex scandals came to light. Russia because they gave him citizenship and allow him to come when the US authorities come knocking for him. As far as the whole Indian thing, hell if I know - I can barely stand to be around most of my kung fu family when they start talking about politics or other subjects as I'm an Anarcho-Communist and they are mostly fascists wrapped in the US flag.

Thanks!

I remember the scandals but didn't realize that is how he ended up there. Makes sense!

Breaking Down Steven Seagal's "Aikido" | Part #2

Steven Seagal taught Karate expert and youtuber @Jesse Enkamp some aikido. As a former aikido instructor I decided to break down and analyze what makes sense and what doesn't from what Seagal taught.

00:00 Does trapping the arms work?
00:38 Manipulating the fingers
01:22 The danger behind Aikido's footwork
02:58 Can you catch a leg like that?
04:20 Punching a kicking leg
06:15 Horizontal fist vs vertical fist
08:47 Conditioning the fists - pros and cons
09:23 Poking the eyes and Aikido wristlocks
10:37 The body-language of lying
11:30 Telegraphing punches and questioning Kata
12:07 Steven Seagal and real fighting
12:55 Conclusions
