This is from an (online) buddy of mine.
Top guy for me, really smart and a long time TCMA practitioner. Very passionate and knowledgable about Yiquan.

Best of all, it's free!

Nice of him to do it, and he's clearly passionate, but I had to bail after a few minutes - I can't keep up with that kind of rambling overly-long delivery. Could he do something more succinct for the bears of little brain like me? Or is there a time stamp in the vid worth fast forwarding to where he, er, gets on with it?

yea.. I do appreciate that, it's not your typical instructional / technique demo type thing. it's a long video
there's a whole series of them and some sparring clips on the channel etc.

is there any particular topic you're interested in from the yiquan system that I'll look out for as I go through them ?
just started in on it today myself.

this video:
guard concepts @around 23m
and the jab starts to come in around 28m

in this video:
- An introduction to the structural movement paradigm.
- All the fundamental mechanics of the Yiquan jab
- A discussion of different jabs within different branches Yiquan and why they differ.

very long delivery style for sure. watched a few min of the guard, really makes sense now why they move that way.

Watched the first one all the way through
A lot of what he is saying makes sense
Other bits I’m not so sure if they would work or not
I will watch the whole 12 in short bites
Don’t know how well it would go trying to learn off the tapes
It might be more lesson friendly later on

Yea, noticed there are some shorter clips of specific little drills and techniques.
It's never ideal to be learning off books and videos unless you have some experience
I think the longer video series is an attempt to build things from the ground up.

Anyone can probably pick up some basic ZZ for foundation without too much difficulty.

There's not a lot of Yiquan available generally speaking, it's not something I'd have easy access to. So it's nice to have stuff like this available. I've bought some of those Chinese DVD's in the past. Something like this is preferable I would say.

Can only speak for myself, and I'm an admirer of Johns wider ethos; not that I would follow every technical idea etc.
But yea i think he has (really) good things to offer. If I can pick up bits and pieces from these, great.
And I'd expect that goes for other TCMA practitioners looking to plumb some of WXZ's legacy into their training.
