Sadly, it's unfortunate that nobody can realistically learn martial arts simply by watching and analyzing videos.

But Doc, didn't Yang Lu Chan learn Chen style well enough to best direct students by watching through a hole in the wall?

The "hole in the wall"image is an interesitng visage with many jokes not too far behind it (pun intended )

On a serious note, the imittaion of posture is one element but one has to "touch hands' as part of the next level of training conditioning and expertise.
I am acknowledging that CMA adepts of the day did physical labour so conditioning only pertained to specific applicatrions and its variations.

it's the "heng" and the "ha" that he found and then went and practiced ... but seriously, never quite know what to make of that detail of the supposed story.

I can't make a "heng" sound while inhaling...
