A nice version from Taiwan. The body method is very similar to the one I learnt (from Beijing). Same applications. Only slight stylistic differences in the techniques.

This is Liu Jing Ru's version from Beijing for comparison.

I was always told to scrape the shin or attack the kneecap with that roundhouse kick like he shows in the Taiwan vid but I always found it difficult to pull off in live practice (it's hard to get the distance exactly right for a scrape - maybe I just hadn't trained it enough?). It always made more sense to me as a hook sweep.

We aim for the ankle shin area - recall it was referred to as the shadow or hidden kick - practiced it by "scraping" the base of a tree or wooden wall but you got to start really, really slow and measured or you will really damage your foot/anke
Always Iiked Liu Jingru's flavor and material especially his bagua.

Used a lot in tai chi dark kicks being a speciality
Every step a kick every kick a step
Foot traps kicks and placements all through the san shou forms
Called the cow kick in the Philippines
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

Testimony-Taiwan Mantis Boxing, Inherited for a Jiazi】
In 2018, the book "Liuhe Mantis Boxing Spectrum" edited by Yunhai Martial Arts Master Dai Shizhe recorded the 13 most important routines of Mantis Boxing. In 2020, Chen Mingde will shoot video records, hoping to continue to pass on these martial arts cultures.

【Wu Xing Tian Xia‧Mantis Thirteen Tai Bao──#Shan Shou Ben】
The mantis boxing is steady and accurate, and it is easy to cause people to be disabled. It is practiced on weekdays and adopts friendly techniques.
It is like fanning the wind with two ears, using only one fist and one palm, which is called good hands.

Runners have flexible and fast footwork.
It's like going forward one foot and falling back eight feet, going back and forth like a shuttle;
This is exactly what it means to dodge left and turn right, move freely.

Liuhe Mantis is an invention of the advanced fusion of Chinese martial arts. Its foundation is Shaolin. The Arhat Boxing in this film also includes Lianbuquan (Lianbuquan), Changquan, Tongbi, Baji, Pigua, Bagua, Liuhequan . . . are all basic skills that must be learned before getting started. After that, there will be the introductory boxing of the mantis. The summary of the seven-star mantis is to practice the essence of the boxing of the seven-star mantis, and the six-fold home boxing of Liuhe mantis is the advanced level: Iron teeth (iron thorns) ), Running with Hands, Flowers Hidden in the Mirror, Circle of Hands, Flowers Hidden at the Bottom of Leaves, Double Seal. Finally, you have to study the interpretation of each technique in the secret book, so that you can understand the ingenuity of the design of each technique of Liuhe Tanglang Quan. Hands, tail, hips, knees, feet, eight points of observation, one palm of the whole body, is a great invention of modern martial arts.

This is almost the tempo and flow of the Liuhe Tanglang Quan that learned - we were told to make it flow more evenly and not any disconnected movement and no fajin expression. The second clip is Qi Qing Zhao Yao that I learned and competed with in the late 1980s at the Great Lakes Tournament - although it was seven star in nature we were told that the flavor of liuhe mantis was added in and I believe this was taught by Zhang Xiangsan of Taiwan - I also think I have a book of his illustrating this form by him.
