He didn't say it's not internal, he said there's no liuhe. I don't know if I would go so far as to say there is no liuhe but I think there is something intangibly wrong with his performance.

Does it matter if he does the form exactly like I want him to do it or not? Well.. there are practical reasons why, but, in the end I have to rate him at least a B+, he's pretty good, I like his attitude.

I meant 6H at a rudimentary level and considering that this is XY. Hand and foot are not coordinated. Neither is elbow and knee, hip and shoulder.
He strikes before landing w his foot. The strike is disconnected from the rest of the body.

It's not about liking or not. If it wasn't called XY, I would probably say that he shows some qualities and that he is good at what he does. But you need to look at it from a strict XY POV. In XY, what he shows is called "evident power". Evident power in XY is "ming" or "mingjing", this is first, basic level in XY. But when you learn "ming" in XY, you need to be very strict with the coordination, the external 3 harmonies and the overall body mechanics.

I am sure this is how he has learned XY as well and knows it well, but he has for one reason or another, he has abandoned this strict coordination. What this means is that you cannot learn from what he does right here, unless you already know XY. You would need at least 5-10 years of practicing the art, and before that it's better to not even look at him. He doesn't show any kind of standard XY body mechanics or what a beginner should be taught.

Edit: And btw, as my own XY is quite rudimentary, I am sure that I don't understand these matters enough to make a very good judgment. I would suggest listening from advanced long-time practitioners, preferably ppl who have XY as their main style or practice only XY and see what they have to say. Sadly enough, those people who would be really interesting to hear what they say are all gone from the boards, or just prefer to lurk now and then but keep quiet.
