Old ideas of physical culture and internal body-methods that were once natural, innate states of being in pre-ancient peoples.

Ancient Greeks wrote about the ideas having to do with Pneuma as mind-body states, and the internal intricacies of tension/release, contraction and expansion, mind-intent etc...

Before that (neandethal?), it probably isn't/wasn't so much about fighting, per se. More to do with listening and awareness, and perception, as a conduit through which a connection with the visceral energetics of being alive and in the world, and responding naturally and spontaneously to the realm and extent of one's range and 'frequency' of the energetics at work in their world. blah blah blah

By all means discuss whatever you want.

But some people will (reasonably) question the questions.

If that’s not understandable, why have a forum?

Personally I don’t think going back super far will provide the really interesting answers, but obviously others just “like history” for other reasons. Or at some point we just wildly speculate (for entertainment).

Dumb comment. Where's your manners? It's fine to disagree, but you should understand who you are addressing how.

After more 45 years of martial art practice and research, 8 black belts, decades of features in the newsstand martial art magazines, more than 10 years of discussions in the forum, published author of history articles and books, asked to do presentations in Beijing University, years of tournament judging for forms, being one of the few people whose articles get translated into Chinese from English, three BA majors and an MA, referenced in dozens of academic articles, and lots more, I am finally now a troll, yay me!

8 black belts sounds as trolling.

other than that its probably the - ”Extra Extra, Read all about it, if you buy it on Amazon” - in about all threads you participate or start

I mean no offence. I'm just curious in what arts you have attained a black belt.

Everyone on RSF is the only expert, but everyone else on RSF is clearly wrong. Never change, RSF, never change. ;D ::) :-\

Haha! In my experience, nearly everyone is a martial arts expert online, but live and in person, not so much. LoL ;D

Why do you think it seems that way?

Most people are inclined to think that the sun rises and sets on the awesome magnificence of their chosen martial arts and their teachers, which are clearly the very best to be found anywhere. So why bother even considering anything else, or the opinions of those who practice something else? Just move along. There's nothing to see here. It's just a waste of time, right? :o

Still waiting for the list of 8 black belts
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

According to Wikipedia, which we all know is never wrong, Feng didn't start training with Chen Fake until 1953. Chen Fake died in 1957, so that would make Feng one of Fake's latest students. That would seem to put the kibosh on the whole early Chen Fake vs. late Chen Fake theory.
