I've got good money riding on the only thing you have to show here is bad manners, but I'd love to lose that bet.

It's more than you've ever/never shown either here or back at EF. Why not post a video of your bad self showing us all how it's done, Gary? Even something from 30 years ago... Until you do that, it isn't unreasonable to put your millions of words and no-show about your own mastery on the same shelf as the one you put the other guy on.
If the "pathetic loser" in the OP was an RSFer, would you post up the same opinion as what you wrote above?
Care to share your opinion of what we're seeing in the push hands video?

Doc Stier wrote:As a professional IMA teacher since 1973, I have always chosen to share what I train only with those whom I accept as students, and with my contemporary peers. I'm not interested in producing free YouTube videos for public consumption, not interested in writing books or creating online courses for sale, not interested in extensive travel to present workshops and seminars, etc, all of which I could do if I was willing to devote most of my time to teaching other people for money in lieu of primarily focusing on training myself.
However, I've always been receptive to meeting with prospective students, as well as with
other practitioners and teachers for mutual discussion, exchange of knowledge, and the demonstration and comparison of respective skills. I have done all of these things many hundreds of times over the course of my career thus far. In so doing, I don't entertain delusions of grandeur regarding my martial art skills or consider myself a legend in my own mind, like so many do. Instead, I always presume that every person I meet with is at least as knowledgeable and skilled as me, if not more so. In this way, I never mistakenly assume the outcome of any confrontation.
That's what was so pathetic about the OP video bout. The loser vastly overestimated himself and greatly underestimated his opponent. The resulting reality check and attitude adjustment that he received was undoubtedly a shock.
At 70+ years of age now, I won't be publicly challenging MMA fighters or engaging in full contact fighting in any venue, and I no longer wish to do club security, security escort or security transport work. I am now quite content to perpetuate my personal training regimen and the ongoing long-term benefits of same, regardless of public opinions, along with teaching a few private classes and seeing a few patients every week. It's all good.
Happy Holidays to all.

Sorry-not-sorry for sorta-necroposting this, and Doc certain doesn't need my or anyone else's "help", but maybe you will appreciate a 3rd party perspective from one of his former students. I've met and trained with Mizner and before that one of his top instructors Andy (great guy), before that spent years as a not particularly accomplished student of Doc's, and outside of that have spent years practicing a variety of things (Korean mishmash, Aikido, Northern Mantis, BJJ/Boxing/MMA etc), and competed in full contact MMA in Texas... in my 40s. So I've crossed hands with people from all kinds of arts, "internal", "external", woo woo and "reality"-based, and have tested my skills against very... uncooperative practitioners. Certainly not a master of anything, but I like to think that my eyes are at least a little bit opened.
Based on this experience, looking at this video, I think this guy isn't even in the same library as Doc, much less the same shelf. Or maybe this guy's in the children's fantasy section at best. To me it's downright laughable to even CONSIDER a similarity in their skills and capabilities. I honestly feel sorry for this man in the video, but I also respect him for putting his face in harms way to find out something about reality. I only hope he was able to grow from it. But in terms of a comparison, what is "reasonable" does always flow from your ass-umptions, so...
While I agree, I would personally love to see video evidence of Doc's mastery for my own selfish purposes, I also (think) I understand his reasons for not doing so and respect his decision like I would respect the wishes of any artist over their work. I have never seen him turn anyone down who wanted to meet him in person and find out for themselves, and I've never known anyone who met him who would even begin to compare him with the person in this video. If you are really that curious, I'm sure you could find a way to visit him.
Do with that what you will!

Or not...it's entirely reasonable for the reader to apply that reasoning...or not
I've always stuck up for people who get roasted over here when those people aren't here to answer for themselves. And I will again as I see fit.
