He won by decision, it's not like he won decisively. Why does everyone think he's so awesome?

Now, Silva, that's a win.

I saw the post fight interview with Tito.

He said he went for the triangle and then transitioned for the armbar, but he should have just stayed with the triangle. If he would have I think he would have won.

Machida said he thought he was going to die but refused to tap.

But props to Machida, he won and didn't let Tito play his usual game.

tito should learn some new tricks. granted, he's great at the "take you down and grind elbows in your face" technique, but he's been doing it so long that it seems guys are learning how to deal with it now.

i wish the bj penn fight would have gone to the ground a bit more. penn's grappling is nice to watch.

The thing about Machida is that he has a great defense and seems to be a natural at preventing leg shoots and how to get out of clinches. He also feints allot, and people cant really read him when he decided to commit to a strike. This makes him get away with non-conventional stuff, like going in and jamming/tripping the guy...instead of going in with a one-two jab and cross combo.

Its worked pretty damn well so far.

And Machida is a Shotokan Karate fighter too. He has trained a lot of other arts too which I think helps him out a lot because he knows how to fight against a lot of different styles. I like Machida he has some good skill and its nice to see something unconventional for the UFC.

BJ really impressed me with his hands. He landed a lot of solid jabs and avoided Sherks jabs most of the time, great fight.

The main event was such a clear demonstration of speed and power vs. timing and precision... Sherk was so apparently much faster and stronger, and yet almost none of his lightning-fast techniques did anything of substance. Whereas almost every single one of Penn's "lazy" jabs landed nicely, each at about half the speed of the other guy's punches.

The feel of that match was almost like an "internal vs. external" fight. 8-) One guy calm, relaxed, almost "slow", etc. and the other guy fast, strong/muscular, etc. They even look so different; reflects what they work on/how they practice.

I agree with that synopsis. BJ looked great and very relaxed. If he only trained some Xingyi then he would be unstoppable.
