Ba Fan Shou with strong xingyi flavor

Postby Josealb on Thu Feb 26, 2009 8:02 pm

Like the youtube description says, these guy has some xingyi influence via Li Yunlong, student of Li Zhenbang (Li luoneng's grandson). Yunlong was Xue Dian's bro. The flavor can be seen...and its very enjoyable to watch.

very Strong and explosive Forms. It is interesting to me that whenever a form is seen executed with forced power we say it has Xing I flavor. i am of the mind that all forms Bagua, TaiChi, and of course Xing I should be practiced in such a manner at some time, though Tai Chi emphasizes soft yeilding energy , in fight mode it will not look like that , just like Bagua's smooth coiling power will never work if the strength of the body is not used explosively. I think this is a concept lacking in the way a lot of systems are taught nowadays
The point . is absolute

Nice clips rare system- great KF!

"guy has some xingyi influence "

Or perhaps Ba Fan Shou had influence on Hsing-I?

So this is...what? Baji?

First clip very interesting...looks like Chen Taiji's punch the deck and flash the back, combined with some HsingI paochoi. Still, what do I know?

looks like a really comfortable form to practice.

you can see a very strong spinal wave in there as well.
