If you can find the final it is a better clip. Wang Xian's son walks the tournement but in the final he demonstartes some very nice techniques.

What a bad time for Jwang to quit the board.

As has already been pointed out numerous times in numerous threads, these wulin dahui fights are fixed. The competitors train together for a month before the match to get the timing right on the throws, etc. They do this so that moves will look more sensational.

Hmm........interesting.

If the fights were fixed with moves choreographed in advance, wouldn't it make sense if there were more "Taiji-ish" techniques rather than Judo/SC type grabbing and slamming.

Tomas, the EF poster who has been training Yinfu BGZ for a long time in Beijing, already posted that his kungfu brothers were on the show. They trained as I said in the earlier post. So it's fixed.

Even choreographed taiji likely wouldn't be obvious enough for the masses -- which this show is aimed at. The big throws, etc. are there for them to see.

so it's like WWE, but with mostly SC and without the WWE feeling. But instead it has the CMA is the best and the masters are to good to compete in a real fight feeling :) But i hope they get some good $$ for it.

Let's not forget those sanda vs muay thai / PRC sanda vs american sanda / shaolin vs tkd... er... fights!

one could argue that being from chen family village and all, they have a better grasp on what is "taiji-ish" then we do. After all, despite obvious strikes, most of what I know about taiji is based in throwing and locks.

Yeah I see your point.

Maybe next time they could have a Taiji guy snap his finger in front of the opponent and make him hop 20 steps backward off the platform while spewing blood all over the place.

That'd be what I call a real crowd pleaser. ;D
