The thing that really surprises me is that he let some of that stuff be filmed. for instance the really slow walking. Its a great training method, but most people won't find it pretty and will have bad judgments towards his practice.

Well he might be beyond caring. I mean a guy like this who obviously has plunged a fair distance into the style, doesn't seem like the kinda bloke to worry too much about what others think. Or maybe I'm wrong and he is showing exactly what is so good about the system.

Just a question though Chris, What do you consider strange in these movements?

Hey Mix, check out the guy's elbow. It's turned outward like in the Cheng You-Long form you showed.

I think the majority is standard Cheng stuff.

But some of the big raising up and stepping as one unit i havnt seen before. from about 2.54 ... not that its bad ... just that its strange to my eyes.

Cheers

His elbow is Cheng You Long and his palm and fingers are Cheng You Xin :)

This has to be one of the better bagua videos I have seen in quite some time. I really liked that guys movement, and the slow walking resembles some of the "big tree with deep roots" style that I learned a bit of. Thanks for posting that!

I would not cross my legs in front of an opponent like that, your just asking for it.

The primary method of applying circle walking is not to cross your legs in front of an opponent, but instead to lock their leg while you strike them, :)
