kendo/kenjutsu also attacks wrists. the "KOTE" strike is something they are very prepared for.
jian's advantage is in thrusting and the double edge. He's really not using either of those in this demo.

Fake shit it may be, but the back heel being down is not unusual in kenjutsu, though a no-no in kendo.
