It's a step by step walk through of Xiao Baji by what looks like maybe one of the Wu-Tan people. It doesn't say who it is but the form looks like the Wu-Tan version.

Wow, it is taking forever to download but from what I have seen this probably is something mutated from the Liu Yun Qiao line. I can see how you would conclude that this is from Wu Tan(g) but it is very different from what I have seen and I have heard tale that there are plenty of people laying claim to baji from our line [I speak as a tudi when I say "our" line.

There are even some, I hear, who have concluded that Liu taught everyone wrong and they have had to "rediscover" the true line.

As a tudi myself, this is a very different baji from what I have learned. It looks like a hybrid version of Liu Yun Qiao's baji and other baji lineages.

Seen that video before, he is actually a taiwanese actor (if i remember correctly), his name is 卫子云 wei zi yun.

yes. the video site is so slow to load.

according to my brother, ba ji "forms" are "carried" by many schools in Taiwan.

such as mantis school, long fist school, chen tai ji school etc. so their main practice is not Ba Ji.

so you may run into videos or performances of ba ji forms by mantis people, long fist people and chen tai ji people etc. they do not have the basic training or flavor of the style.

the main thing is that they do not practice jin gang ba shi or drilling single posture over and over such as 100 times in a row.

they may have some shapes/xing but no spirits or shen. and the balance of jin is totally not there.
