Aikido vs. MMA

Postby dtactics on Sun Nov 22, 2009 2:59 pm

"Aikido" guy won because he was more well rounded than the "MMA" guy. I laugh when I hear "Systema vs. Muay Thai, Wing Chun vs. BJJ etc." proclamations because it assumes the participants are true representations of their arts (Aikido guy did attack with real shomens). Waiting to see an honest description- "Panic vs. Don't think I'll Panic".

Heh. True 'nuff about pitting "X Art" vs. Y Art" as though the practitioners demonstrating them are good or even relatively equal representatives thereof. The MMA guy was just...sad. Looked like an absolute beginner. The "aikido" guy scored over and over with jujigatame and other common judo and jujutsu techniques.

C'mon, give us a break! :-\

Just because the guy is wearing a hakama doesn't mean his techniques are Aikido. ::)

They're both a jokes! Aikido guy was more competent in bad BJJ with a few useless shomen strikes sprinkled in.

Thats what I was wondering. GO GO AIKIDOKA!

It isn't. One arm does not a style make.

Now this guy on the other hand :)
