For sure Ian ... Alex showed some of Master Chen's taiji at a seminar in Gloucester a few years ago .... very interesting stuff!!

The guys n the video are a group of Wang shu jins students i believe, they have a teaching group in taiwan somewhere and invited Master Chen over to show some Taiji. The teacher of the group tried it on with master Chen and by all accounts got a very polite spanking.... at one point in the footage he actually goes and hides behind one of his students!!! lol

This video shows the way master chen moves but there are some more application things on the footage that are excellent ... he is so fast and smooth.

The footage was taken when the team from 'The real Martial Arts' documentary visited Alex and master Chen, but it didnt make the final cut ... maybe there was too much blood! :D

Master Chen is due to visit the UK next year ... so i would recommend getting to see him! I sure will be!!

cheers
Chris

Master looks fine but I've never heard of a kunlunpai branch of taiji, does anyone have info about where it comes from?

i dont think there is much out there on it at all. That doesnt mean its not authentic ... simply that there is no commerciality in the school. Master Chen Yuen San is the Lineage holder of the system as far as i understand it and is held in extremely high regard in the taiwanese MA community. He is quite underground however and doesnt have a commercial school as far as i know.

Alex gave details of the lineage once ... maybe on here ... which is varifyably linked to the palace and the time of Yang Lu Chan but i dont have a copy. I believe the lineage is through a line of taoists one of whom was in the palace at the time of Yang, although the styles are distinct and not necisarrily related there was some two way 'exchange' of knowledge at that time. I may be way off ... as it was along time ago I asked Alex about it...

As i understand it Master Chen now calls the style, 'flowing river boxing' or something similar ... To differentiate from other lines of TaijiQuan.

cheers
Chris

Thanks for answering. Master's shenfa speaks for itself so I have no doubt about kunlunpai's contents authenticity, I was just wondering if it were a family style only recently gone public or what.
