Canadians? Is this what you are proud of?

This is sadly true. I met a lot of Canadians (those on the the board excluded) who have a very negative and generalized opinion about Americans. I was always disappointed when some of my old friends used to slag Americans with generalized opinions. Not all Canadians are like this though. Those on the board, that I met, have never dissed Americans in our discussions. We may be frustrated at Bush and US foreign policy but I never heard a comment like "Americans are all a bunch of ..."

And FWIW, I can understand that Buddy gets frustrated by certain comments, I don't take his frustration personally.

Well, sometimes it works for me if I just substitute "group x" for another group, and then see how it sounds. Suppose, that group were Jews or gays, would it still be a fair generalization? That doesn't mean that generalizations aren't posible. Most Canadians are right-handed, fwiw. To me, apart from linguistic things, Canadian culture is more similar to USAmerican than any other. Don't know what to say about Alaska, though. They're a lot like their Canadian neighbors in the Yukon. Anyway, Canadians aren't the only one ragging on US policies and politics. You should hear the Germans.

You know what Canadians should be proud of? Brave New Waves with Brent Bambury.

Aside from the fact that Bambury is pompous and a nut, yes, brave new waves is pretty cool. :D

Maybe I should check it out.

They canceled it?
WTF?

Not that I have even thought about it recently, but still.

Actually, CBC took a bit step in the wrong direction recently. They canceled most of the classical shows on radio two and replaced them with up and coming Canadian media that is just no where near as good. I want my fucking Bizet back dammit!

On January 17, 2007, it was announced that Brave New Waves would be removed from the CBC Radio 2 line-up as part of a rebranding of the network.[1] The program aired for the last time on March 16, 2007.
