Trolling is a federal crime

(Well, at least in the US.)

This is old news, but just to remind you all -- you can only annoy others legally when posting under your own name. If you annoy people using a nick, you're violating federal law.

Nice, eh?

Good to know. I think this kind of law would probably only be enforced by the govt when people criticize the govt.

Well, no one really knows that I'm using my own name. I think there is a problem in using the word "annoy." However, there are all sorts of weirdos using the internet to find victims for their crimes. I think that adding a charge on for this allows further charges to be added to the crime they may commit. What we should really worry about is how they find out if my name's not really ghettojuice.

It's interesting, pretty much anyone the Feds want to throw in prison they can, for just about any reason, because of obscure laws like this that anyone and everyone can violate, no matter how honest and hard working they may be.
