The paper media has long since been muzzled in the USA[It took the Guardian to break the NSA story] but this week saw the almost complete takeover with the sale of the Boston Globe and Washington post. Arguably the papers do not have the prominence they did in the past but they did give an outlet for what, on the surface, appeared to be free speech. The NY Times will probably be vthe next [although its been in the pocket of the corporations for years]
