assault style weapon has no meaning

But then you post

“assault weapons,” as defined by state and federal law

Could you at least try?

call the weapons something they are not

I guess you know better than the inventors what they are? See the above quotes and references. As I am younger than you, all my friends who served (some saw combat, some didn't) made it clear that full auto was only very rarely if ever used. So, the argument that being semi auto makes them sporting instead of combat is silly.

Anyway, language is alive, and I already pointed out that I am using legal definitions that also happen to be in the dictionary. It's really simple. It also has little to do with the original topic.

Not surprised you started with small calibre rifles, but I'm glad you admit that the platform makes them easy to shoot rapidly and accurately. That is a central point in the discussion.

I started with .308s and other larger calibres like Marlin 30/30 bush guns. Even when I was thin, larger guns never really moved me nor left me sore, although I did get bruises after long sessions. The first time I shot with my old buddies (who were all better than me by FAR), I remember being surprised by how easy it was to shoot ar15s compared to ar10s.

you seem to be wanting to make a point based on your opinion just as I have mine..we dont agree...

No, citing legal and dictionary definitions is not my opinion.

I could also post things that would tend to support my thoughts by those who are considered experts in the field...

Oh, like the inventers of said tools? I did that. You are only citing talking points by lobbyists who are special interests with a financial stake.

just as you and? If you feel something is silly might want to talk with those who hunt....

Huh, I hunt. I know lots of people who hunt: family, friends, acquaintances, former students, etc...None of them use assault weapons for hunting.

As to auto you may or may not not know that M-16A1 can only fire burst of 3 rounds...
there is no "full auto" any more unless it was changed after 95... .

Huh? I just said that. You are the one who was bringing up the auto/semi auto dichotomy for your argument. Like I said: keep up and pay attention.

Going back and erasing your faulty arguments is really pathetic. You lost. All it took was me being on vacation and taking the time to follow the threads.

Well, I made it about halfway through. What's his point? That rich mostly white politicians care more about mass shootings at schools than shootings in the inner cities of America? Yeah, I think most people would agree with that. So?

Then he says something along the lines of, "Where is the call for gun control!?" But then immediately follows with the claim that Chicago already has too much gun control. The guy is all over the place and not very thoughtful. But, hey, he is driving around cussing into his cell phone. I hope he doesn't kill anyone.

By the way, Chicago is not a gun free zone. What a bizarre comment to make. More ignorance on display as usual. 相変わらず
