Before the virus hit Europe and especially the Italian financial center Milan, there where speculations that Italy was to be the next to go for an EU Exit. Perhaps the virus has invoked enough fear in the Italians by now to stay put in the EU.
Either God or something more earthly work in mysterious ways.

Yes, clearly the virus was created in a lab in Brussles to stop Italy leaving the EU. I mean, what other possible explanation could there possibly be?

I fail to see how the current situation in Italy could be seen to consolidate it's position in the EU or stop it leaving, if anything it's the opposite.

Whether Coronabonds get off the ground and what conditions are attached are key to the long term survival of the block. It's a defining moment, the can has been kicked about as far down the road as it can.

Can the playing field be effectively levelled, the sovereign debt issue addressed ( and haircuts taken where necessary ) taxes harmonised etc ?

Full integration has always been the only way for the Eurozone and it's currency to make sense.

And to silence Trick, Brussels then convinced the Swedes to do nothing and in an effort to achieve "herd immunity." ;)

I have heard some far out theories. Someone told me that the Chinese released the virus to kill Hong Kong protestors.

The best part of conspiracy theories is that science doesn't care.
