I`ve been on this diet while trained quite intensively.
Basic: breathing and qigong twice a day;
+ everyday running and stretching witch addition basic Bagua /circle walkin`, stepping method and some hand work / + Xing I - everyday, or every 2nd day.

Main trick :) here, is hidden in the breathing exercises, I guess.
Your body learn better burn/use the food?

however
have no idea how it will work with the heavy "hard" style training. When I was there I`ve been on "standard" cooking.
