Some interesting stuff is out there. Apparently Porche 914 conversions are pretty common. As long as you don't use the vehicle more than 80 miles roundtrip per day it works well. Also, cold weather will decrease the efficiency of the batteries as well.
Getting in an auto accident would be bad though as a battery breach could dissolve the driver. That is one of the reasons why the DoD ended its hybrid combat vehicle program study early. Battery pack breaches were so dangerous it was ruled unadviseable to field the equipment. On The Grand Tour, one of the hosts accidently destroyed a battery powered supercar and it kept burning for a week after the initial accident.
