Didn't think I would get through the 1st episode - then it clicked - binged it - couldn't get enough of it - can't explain it but it captivated and held my attention .

This is why it doesn't make any sense - descriptively it's about the friendship of two Italian girls growing up in Post war Naples - no mafia, killing etc. yet it turns out to be a fascinating story of life and character - in many ways it reminds me of the Italians I grew up with outside of Pittsburgh - all of our grandparents came from another country complete with accents LOL [mine were from Pistoia and Firenze - friends from Sicily and Calabria]
