Mayweather had his first pro fight in October 1996, more than 18 months before Nasukawa was born, but even the friendly circumstances are liable to drag the competitive side out of the 50-0 king. That being said, the seasoned superstar is prepared to face a threat from Nasukawa, who holds a 28-0 record in kickboxing and made his debut in July 2014, one month prior to his 16th birthday:

Is this like one of those NYE fights where Fedor would take on an undefeated "tomato can"?

What was that? I mean it was entertaining, whatever it was.

An exhibition fight/money grab.

I think you're familiar with Tenshin from your RSF post, "kyokushin vs mma:"

Mayweather beat that guy like a little kid.

As for the pre-arranged payday, well they call him "Money" Mayweather for a reason...

Many are saying, being an unsanctioned 'exhibition' - it was fixed.

When I watched the fight (live) this never occurred to me – Nasukawa looked genuinely surprised when he got hit, and given their relative years of experience and the fact that Nasukawa had handicapped himself by fighting to boxing rules, the result should not be a surprise.

But then again, I'm a trusting sort of chap.

Floyd makes millions because people will pay to see him get beaten. He has been fighting professionally since many of his critics were children, or not even born. Criticizing him because of the rules is silly. It's the people who think they can strike with him who are making the mistake --and him money.

Japan likes these NYE WWE-type shows. I mean heck, it was entertaining. Seeing Fedor beat a giant was also always entertaining. You can sort of sell the freak show of "well this guy is a giant/prodigy/whatever so he could possibly beat this guy who is legitimately super good". Who is David and who is Goliath?

Probably not fake:
- Mayweather is a better boxer
- Tenshin is better at mma and kickboxing
- Tenshin really thinks he can learn some boxing by doing a "freak show" match
- Mayweather knew it's an easy payday

Possibly fake:
- Tenshin trying to punch Floyd and giving Floyd way too easy holes to exploit
- Tenshin doing the taichi hippie hop when he gets hit
- Media complaining of "giving boxing a bad name" (I mean the media gets more pageviews here, who are they kidding with their "complaints")

Who loses here? The only losers are the people who take it all too seriously.

Was it real or fixed? To many the bout between Floyd Mayweather & Tenshin Nasukawa looked strange, but also; many believed this was the expected outcome. Who is right? Thank you for joining me as we take a closer glance:

I doubt it. Why would an undefeated boxer need a boxing match fixed against someone else trying to box?

Mayweather was the better boxer and he won.

Not saying a fix is impossible as much as I don't think the outcome would have been any different without being fixed. I think those tiny gloves made it easy for Mayweather to find holes in his opponent's defense.

In pro-wrestling, the Japanese v American bouts were generally designed to "put over" the Japanese fighter. I.e., Americans went to Japan to deliberately lose and increase the prestige of the Japanese wrestler. I seriously doubt that Tenshin wanted or needed to be beaten in a Japanese market to an American, and I know that Mayweather didn't need to improve his boxing creds by beating a kickboxer who wasn't allowed to kick. Fights are fixed to benefit someone, and I don't see anyone benefiting from this match. Well, ok, if the argument is that Mayweather fixed the fight to his advantage so that he could make 9 more million for a few minutes work, I'll buy that --but wouldn't pay to watch on ppv. :)
