EU Internet Regs Pass b/c Sweden Pressed Wrong Button

Postby Michael on Tue Mar 26, 2019 3:34 pm

According to BoingBoing's translation of some Swedish tweets.

Article 13 will wreck the internet because Swedish MEPs accidentally pushed the wrong voting button

Today, the European Parliament voted to pass the whole Copyright Directive without a debate on Articles 11 and 13 by a margin of five votes.

But actually, a group of left-leaning Swedish MEPs have revealed that they pressed the wrong button, and have asked to have the record corrected. They have issued a statement saying they'd intended to open a debate on amendments to the Directive so they could help vote down Articles 11 and 13.

We lost on a technicality, and there is no recourse.

nja du michael, the "left-leaning" is on you. the mistakingly button pressers are swedish-democrats, a right-wing party. but partly right you may be since sd has indeed attraced quite a few from the social-democratic party over the years

however with the resently strange/weird coalations between poltical parties in sweden, the mistakingly button presses might not have been so mistakingly

Of course it was no mistake. But they must act as they don't want it because of their voters.

SD (The Swedish Democrats) always say one thing and then do another. But this time they did one thing and then said another. Lol!

What they did is in line with what they do, what they said they wanted to do is in line with what they usually say. SD has its own logic. :P

... and their voters are easily fooled ... -toilet-
