It'd be possible to raise it from the dead. It's also possible that Cersei will come out on top.;)

Well, seems like Jaime gets the knight. Who's gonna get the throne, and who'll get the shaft?

It was a bit heavy handed, but it completed an arc.

The Mountain is one tuf sumanabitch. And, then there's Dany, but she is a Targarian, and you know how they can be.

did it seem a little weird that

- with the element of surprise, it was easy to harpoon a dragon in the other episode
- then they strangely point all the giant crossbows in one direction
- dragon is hidden behind cloud, but still approaches straight on
- avoids giant arrows seemingly easily
- finally approaches perpendicular to castle wall, which makes much more sense - why not just fly to red keep from behind it?
- nuclear level fire blasts vs. earlier lesser fire?

The new dragon tactic made sense. Instead of flying over the ships, it dove at them. It was "boom and zoom" strategy at first --developed in WW2 by Navy pilots to combat the superior agility of the Japanese Zeros. That, and the head on position made the target smaller and harder to hit. Then, she took advantage of the fact that the harpoons had to be reset and aimed while she zoomed away. After a few passes, she changed tactics and flew lower than the harpoons could be aimed. That idea may have come from the British attack on the Bismarck in WW2. I.e., the torpedo planes that managed to get a hit flew so slow and low that the B's guns couldn't reach them. After that, it was all fear factor. Ain't nobody aiming well. But, damn, Dany, that was cold.

I think next week's episode should be 90 minutes of Daenarys sitting on a couch, arms crossed, an angry pout on her face... with Jon Snow, exasperated, standing across from her repeating in a slow whisper (for 90 minutes)
"Dany.... what... the ... fuck...?!'

No matter what happens this Sunday I still love the show. They've given us 8 great seasons, or 6 great seasons and 2 kinda okay ones, depending on how you feel. No matter what, has had some one of a kind moments in its run, even in this season. Dany razing the city on her dragon may have been surprising and heartbreaking, but it was pretty fucking cool all the same. Everybody loves dragons till it's time to do dragon shit.
