The man who used his helmet as a weapon has been arrested, along with three others there for parole & probation violations. It is ironic that it was most likely the video from his own side that is the evidence against him.

Andy Ngo is an independent journalist in Portland, OR and has covered many antifa protests in Portland in the past couple of years. He was at another one today and was attacked by multiple masked antifa; some used weapons. He was also pelted with milkshakes as he walked away. As in the OP, his camera was stolen. I don't think he has ever gotten physical with or threatened anyone. He has been threatened and assaulted many times in the past year by antifa, but not been hurt or beat up until today, although it was really just a matter of time since he's not on their side. A recent article in Quillette explained the overlap of leftist journalists as antifa cheerleaders.

I was hoping he would give this up before he got hurt. Going out there alone is not wise and I think Portland's mayor will have to change for things to get better. Apparently many police are quitting and it's difficult to hire new ones because the mayor, who is also police commissioner, prevents them from keeping the peace.

A former co-worker told me that he and his friends asked Andy Ngo if he wanted to walk with them, and he said no and continued on his own; I think he wanted to just cover events and not be a part of any group, which is dangerous when there are violent people like Antifa around.

I saw that the only Democractic presidential candidate (as of yesterday) who spoke out against what happened to Andy Ngo was Andrew Yang.
I was not familiar with him or his positions, so I watched his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast and he is an interesting guy. Very well spoken and has well thought out answers to current problems, not just speaking platitudes and slogans.
