any critiques? maybe was too boring?

apparently santos tore all his left knee ligaments in the first round. possibly accounts for his falling down with light looking contact several times.

edited clip.

Initially I thought Santos had won that.

1 leg and takes Jones to a split decision - pretty impressive.

I thought Santos would just go crazy, but he played it really well, maybe being injured made him a better fighter.

Jones is perhaps the ultimate defensive fighter - he's almost wing chun-like in his control of the centre line.

Jones was REALLY BORING, and a massive drug cheat and the UFC don't care.

The Askren fight was the real talking point of that night.

Best video I've seen about it:

Ohh at work but I'll check it out later.

For the jones boring thing, I think commentators said it makes sense because he probably knew he was winning on points and why risk losing your championship with a big move that will just get you KOed. But he occasionally threw the spinning elbows.

also, did he Bruce Lee kick Santos' rear knee? The press said his knee was already injured but maybe a kick was the last straw? I think mma has proven BL was right (side kick, knee kick, eye pokes, ranges, etc.) all along, but they should ban those knee kicks for safety. Eh what do I know though.
