The murder at the Gilroy Garlic festival was another right wing wacko.

Definitely white nationalist, but nothing directly tying him to, say, Trump.

Unlike the one today in El Paso, which will soon be added

As of Wednesday. August 1:

ABC News reported that the FBI agent in charge said he was to “knock down” the theory Legan was a white nationalist.

“I can tell you there has been no determination on ideology. There’s reports out there has been information found and books referenced on that, we are not in a position at this stage of the investigation to make a call on ideology,” Special Agent John Bennett said Wednesday.

“The information that’s out there, it’s being reported that there’s white nationalism or any type of those ideologies …That has not been determined and I wanted to knock that down.”

You mean the same FBI that got Trump elected?

Yes and here the news too is trying to downplay the fact that the murder was targeting Latinos. Yet his social media accounts say otherwise.

Sorry but I don't trust the FBI. The FBI has a long history of targeting minorities, activists and Unions.

I think the FBI and the news in general says these things to avoid an all out race war which is what Trump wants or least plays on the fears of race war.

Yet if you read what the FBI says they don't actually refute or knock it down they just say they don't have evidence to come to that conclusion. Yet I don't need to the FBI to think for me or read what dude posted online before the shooting. Anyone can spot a racist online.

Image

Hordes of Mestizos? Of yeah, noticed racist there...

However the mass murderer in El Paso is a white supremacist complete with a manifesto so somehow I doubt the FBI will try this game here.

Yet Obama was elected so racism is over, right?

Represent Omar was right. Here in the US terrorism from white nationalists is a bigger threat to our nation than is Islamic extremists.

Btw, if the FBI is reading this [email protected]#$ the FBI!

Bruce

I looked around to hear the FBI agent's argument but I can't find it anywhere on ABC news.

Can you post the actual news from ABC news?

I want to verify what was actually said.

If you recall after 9-11 we (Americans) were told that ground zero was completely safe for everyone yet decades later thousands have died from cancer.

I think the authorities often do these things in an attempt to keep the public calm and to prevent copy cat murders inspired to do the same but I would like to hear it from the FBI for myself not that I trust them.

I don't "trust" the FBI, or the "gov't," but that doesn't mean that they're always wrong. There's no reason for them to say that the Gilroy shooter was ideologically motivated, no matter who he supported politically. I'm sure somewhere on the internet, someone's saying that he was really a leftist or a member of Antifa. Whatever his beliefs, he was willing to walk into an event and shoot kids. Yeah, more people were probably murdered in some urban or area, and maybe someone today has successfully defended his home with a weapon. That's no comfort to the victims --and, ideology or not, a murderer is a murderer. Sure, he might think he's doing a good thing.

Anyway, the FBI issued warnings years before this last incident in El Paso.

Oh he's not a white nationalist, he just referred people to white nationalist literature in his last act before sacrificing himself.

But like I said, not considering that in the list because it's not a direct and easily provable link to right wing politics.

You guys still don't get it. This thread is a double down on not getting it.

I thought the double entendre in my first reply would make it obvious. Hell, I got a 9th grade education and I get it.

Maybe Clattenburg's masterpiece of political commentary will help:

What don't we get, that right wing nutjobs are out killing people in larger numbers than ANY other extremists in America? That hate crimes in places where Trump has rallies increase 300%? I mean, what is it? I'm kind of dumb, you have to just come right out and say shit if you expect me to get it.

Fair enough but I am not even sure it is real. One of the reasons I no longer engage in social media is because it gets bombed with false information.

Did you find the ABC story Bruce? I would like to see it.

I am not clicking your videos or your links. If you have something to say then say it.

The fact is Trump shut down the FBI task force that kept their eye of white supremacists terrorist organizations and now they have opened one up yet the news fails to say that we had one which Trump shut down.

Obviously because he benefits from these voters. I strongly disagree with what he did because I knew was coming and I know it will continue. When the president of the US calls Mexicans murderers and rapists and an invasion this will happen.

I was in the military and I was programmed to view gays and Iraqis in the same way because gays were trying to get into the military but were banned from doing so yet I am sure that the homophobia was nothing new. When I was done with the conditioning I actually had anger towards gays but using my brain I decided to recognize that I was programmed and turned off that programming.

In the military I even told people telling Iraqi jokes to shut the hell up.

The fact is programming people to hate via the internet is extremely easy and assualt rifles are everywhere in my country and for whatever reason young men (of all races) in the US feel entitled and when they don't get their way they feel justified in shooting up places.

So doing simple math, a president who demonizes asylum seekers, Baltimore, Muslims and the marginalized, guns everywhere in the society "on all sides" and a generation of young men who feel entitled to what they want who turn to voilence if they don't get it and sure enough you are going to see lots of Americans getting gunned down.

This is where we are.

THERE! Thank you! Everything you wrote before that, and after, forget about it. That's just baseless blame. Don't even blame the internet. Blame those guys.

I'd buy you your choice of any drink in the house and go across the street to get you a $30 cigar for what you wrote just there.

BTW, Trump didn't say that of all Mexicans and he doesn't have any more motivating power over nutjobs than you are willing to give him. Stop giving that goof power and you might even feel some sympathy for him.

I will take that drink.

But I will never have sympathy for Trump and why should I?

I served this country, ready to fight and die for its ideals and he did not.

Btw, I know someone with bone spurs and it is no joke and you live with it all your life. When you have bone spurs you can't even run because that can make them return. So yes, Trump is draft dodger, nothing more than a rich man's son turned reality TV star when his businesses failed.

He has done nothing for this country but give tax breaks to the rich yet for some reason outside the country he seems to enjoy popularity among a few.

I do agree that the hate Trump promotes is not new but he promotes because he benefits from it yet to my mind he absolutely responsible for the tragedy that happened today.

Fact is Trump has no policies he only offers emotions which is why I predicted he would win because talking to his supporters he tapped into their emotions in a way that no other politicians did.

For it was as if a 9-11 just happened for half the country and for the half everything was normal and couldn't understand what was happening.

Yet somehow the GOP became the party of "poor me."
