In case you're both a Prepper and a Billionaire. Bunker down in style while you're waiting for the zombies to die out.

Ah, just move nearby to any Bill Gate property and take hold of it when that apocalypse is closing in.

It's so hard to shop for a present for the billionaire who already has everything.

Living (and dying) by yourself in that thing might actually be worse than just dying "outside".

you kidding!? while zombies roaming the fields outside. . you can cozy up in cozy leather sofas, play some billard and have a drink at the bar...and who said one must be alone in all the coziness....and if one being of the adventurous kind, sneak out run zig zag among the zombies a moment the sneak back for another game of nine ball.

Hey I can't afford it so at least give me this small attempt at intellectual dishonestly and wishful thinking... :)
Yeah actually I think it would be worse inside there, knowing and being reminded every single minute that everything has gone to hell, and the sound of your clock ticking would probably be louder than that HiFi sound system...

If behaviour is any indicator and the Billionaires are the 1% and they are afraid and going to this extrent, then there is a message that we all can learn from!
They know the sh&t is real so they are preparing despite their societal positioning! It is inevitable based on their preparation strategy, don't ya thank so?

The truth (behavioural expression of being) cannot speak any louder! What are the rest of us doing?

What is the root cause of this fear of things (society...) disintegrating to the extent that bunkers would be needed? Well, even the rich can recognize that their wealth and power is insufficient to control everyone else and to get their way (the answer is probably NOT just gaining more control, although many individuals, corporations and societies try to do this). Even worse is when they do not understand the reasons why things are not going the way that they dream that it should (must be some conspiracy?).

So, even after the USA became a superpower after WWII, our military might cannot really subdue opponents, our diplomatic and military efforts cannot convert other countries into well functioning democracies, and even religious beliefs are declining in the USA, not to mention the failure to convert other peoples to the Christian belief system, etc. What to do, what to do? Why aren’t other societies converting to how we want them to be? Why are they hostile to our attempts to “help” them?

Well, (perhaps) as long as the USA views things as the powerful (economically, militarily, culturally, or whatever) being entitled, and look at things only from our own selfish perspective (what do we do to get OUR way), and maintain our huge egotistical view of ourselves (we are superior, blessed, destined, free...), then we will be working for our own interests at the expense of others, rather than working for the common good. If we act only in the interests the powerful, then we cannot really be working for the common good, and we will act in opposition to others who are different than us (in social structures, governments, beliefs, histories, wealth, technological development, etc.). Then there will not be peaceful coexistence; there will be conflict. With technological advances, conflicts (not only military conflicts, but also environmental, etc.) become more damaging, or at least potentially damaging. If our use of force does not succeed, then others will resort to force (often covert but also overt, e.g. increased “terrorism”) to resist us. Even the “war” on “terror(ism)” has failed (as if cultural differences could really be “solved” solely with military might). Therefore – bunkers!

The USA is a country that was purposely set up as something different to monarchies, theocracies, or other totalitarian systems, and this democracy inherently means that compromise rather than forceful dominance should be the way that we should operate. But those in power do not want to compromise, and when they do not get everything the way that they want, then force or coercion (often including the enactment of unjust laws) is resorted to. This is not the recipe for mutual improvement and peaceful cooperation (the common good). We were set up as a union of (somewhat) different independent groups (the different trading colonies that became different states of the union) and so “states rights” as well as “national interests” must be considered. But we seem incapable of treating other populations (countries, races, religions...) with equal consideration. Therefore conflict; therefore bunkers.

Even within our own country, we work primarily in the interests of the rich and powerful rather than the interests of the common good. How then could we be expected to operate in a cooperative manner that would advance the common good for everyone rather than just our own country’s self-interests? Therefore, continued conflicts – and bunkers!

Since none of us are billionaires and we are speculating on psychology of the 1%, I don't agree with an assumption that the 1% somehow know there is conflict and that they cannot control everyone else and therefore they have bunkers. It seems more likely that out of people in the 100%, there are some few who feel some need to be "preppers" and out of those few, there are some in the 1% who can actually afford bunkers to the nth degree. Plus some tiny portion of those may know something about history and revolutions and may have a very diversified view of risk management.

The 1% and Wall St banks have also been buying water rights and land with/near clean, freshwater for quite some time. https://www.globalresearch.ca/the-new-w ... er/5383274

On this topic of bunker-ing and the world water shortage and water rights, Ethiopia and Egypt may go to war over Nile water rights and usage: https://foreignpolicy.com/2019/11/15/ri ... he-dammed/

And on the topic of land/water rights, the common good vs. the rich, here's an interesting article on land rights (should you be allowed to have land/natural resources in perpetuity and/or steal from future generations - by destroying the environment - as a fundamental right to property - changing land/nature to your money?). https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... e-children?

theoretical astrophysicist Ethan Siegel warns that Musk — a hero to environmentalists due to his line of electric cars — risks polluting the night sky to such an extent that ground-based observatories that cost the scientific community hundreds of millions of dollars to build could be rendered effectively useless.

Musk’s plan is to build a “mega-constellation” of Starlink satellites numbering 42,000. But Siegel writes that even though just 122 of these have been launched, it is having a massive impact on the field of astronomy.

The bunkers shown are kind of light weight examples.

Check out some of Jesse Ventura's forays into underground bunkers.
miles of caverns with transportation / hospitals /etc.

Then start paying attention to some of the more ambitious blue-collar
creations - much more ready to defend and do battle.
