I don't hate anybody. This quote from the Reddit thread I pulled this sums up my opinion of the situation beautifully though I'm less torn and more prone to gloating at his feet of clay.

I'm torn between sympathising with him as a follow living being who is suffering (addiction illness is not a joke) and pointing out the hypocrisy of his entire career being based on the idea that everything wrong in your life is because you're not deciding to do the right thing.

He uses "personal responsibility" as as a sword to attack any criticism of systemic conditions. Poverty is a personal choice, addiction is a personal choice, discrimination is due to personal choices, etc. Yet he is, like everybody else including myself, is just a human who can't control everything in his life with his personal choices.

I feel sorry for him. Poor guy. He's clearly not well at all. Just look at this video from 2 months ago. That is not a well man. He almost breaks down at 6.40. Eyes are slow, looks out of it, voice gets higher and higher, hands fidget. Talking mainly giberish.

but... I'm sorry, I really doubt this special condition he has. LIke he couldn't have a normal problem - his has to be special.... really? Does this really add up?

Instead of this whole philosophy of order over chaos and right wing autoritarianism, he should have balacned it with some softer more feminine yin aspects. Be more forgiving to himself. Relax. Be less strict. Balance order and chaos, like. You know... The Tao, instead of pushing this perfectionist macho bullshit which destroys people, including himself.

I wish him good fortune in his recovery. Poor guy.
