Seriously, has this film been discussed on here before? IF NOT WHY NOT!
I think this is the best martial arts film I have ever watched. (With the obvious exception of Enter the Dragon). Nothing else I've ever watched has quite so accurately captured the entireity of the martial arts miasma as this. .

So much quotable: Punch with your feet, kick with your hands! My name is "Snesei". The list just goes on and on.
The entire grading scene!

I liked the art of self defense, I took it as a black comedy in the vein of The Foot Fist Way, but darker and more surreal.

I havent yet seen Art of Self Defense but I have seen the Foot Fist Way, which I found to be a great sort of goofy comedy about McDojos... Rex Kwan Do also comes to mind...
