Right, we are in agreement and he may get re-elected. My point is only the hardcore Trump supporters are parroting this line.

I work with and deal with Trump supporters. From what I see those who voted for him who are not right wing fanatics now see him for who he is and gave up on him due to the pandemic response.

The fact is even "they" don't believe this bullshit. They're just trying to control the narrative after saying it was just the flu for weeks. What else are they going to do? Admit they were wrong? -lol-

Just my 2 cents.

Some people would vote for Trump even if he shot someone on 5th Avenue but most I know who preferred him over Clinton would not.

Personally I would vote Biden even if he shot Trump on 5th Avenue. :D

The best example are the small businesses. The Republican small business owner just saw the treasury robbed to serve the big businesses while they go bankrupt and out of business. If that doesn't wake you up then nothing will.

Trump is angry about his poll numbers. And he has very good reason to be.

If anyone questions something I said it would be good to quote my words in doing so.
In my postings I have alluded to the lethality of this virus comparing it to the flu.

I’ve questioned the different methods in reporting between both of them
as of yet it’s still not known how many people are asymptomatic infected by it.

In reading different information sources the numbers are far higher than what is posted according to some reports,
there are a couple of ongoing studies to understand this.

Not a fan of the way it was handled in the US considering how it was handled in some other countries.
Lots of reasons for why the differences in comparing the countries. One of the main factors is the federal system the US is set up as.

Coupled with the current political climate the federal government didn’t act as a unit in the early stages and still not acting as a unit now.

It would be good to know whether this virus was naturally occurring or something that was being studied modifying itself in the process and escaped from a lab.
“Likelihood “ Means possible given that the lab was there, coupled with China’s past history with other labs for viruses have escaped. There were concerns noted about this particular lab around 2017.

This does not rule out it could be naturally occurring as of yet from some unknown source.

It would be good to know.

I don't question any of your claims. I just don't care.

For sake of argument, I have already accepted ALL of your claims.

- China covered it up initially. Sure.
- China lied about transmissibility initially. Sure.
- The virus was created in a lab in Wuhan. For sake of argument, sure.
- Methods or reporting were funny. Sure.
- it’s still not known how many people are asymptomatic infected by it. Sure.

Nobody cares.
Other peoples failures do not excuse your own.
China's problems are just not relevant to Trumps negligence.
There was still no significant action taken by the US federal government.
Still 67,000+ dead and counting.

No matter how bad China is, those people are still dead.

you and some others seem very concerned about "no significant action taken"
never mentioning what action or how...

don't seem to have much to say about the lives that might have been saved had china
not

your ok with this right?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) promoted tourism to San Franciso, California’s Chinatown and was moving forward with legislation to prevent presidents from issuing travel bans while President Trump implemented a travel ban from China to stop the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020 ... ravel-ban/

the same ones trying to. prevent what was done then, now complaining it wasn't down soon enough..
questioning the administrations concerns then, wanting to know why the administration did not act on them now.

yep,,, :P

1. Present tense. Still no significant action taken.
2. You lie. I gave you a pretty comprehensive list about a month ago.

last time I checked "United States Department of Health and Human Services" is responsible
for " "Improving the health, safety, and well-being of America".

"The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies"

I guess not much point in discussion
you don't seem to understand the basic functions of the US government.

We could see there was a big problem in Wuhan in January. It was on the news. No matter what was done, it wasn't enough. But, again, it was egotism and narcissism that led the leadership of this government not to want to take it seriously. Stopping travel from China was fine for the west coast, but the east got the virus from Europe. After we saw pictures from Italy, travel from Europe was curtailed. That led to crowds of people flooding through NY airports.

I'm more interested in what has been learned from dealing with a pandemic. Sure, defund the WHO, but that won't gain us anything, and China would make up the difference anyway. Imo, it'd be better to give more funds to the WHO and gain greater input and control. If the CDC failed, should they be defunded? or should the director be replaced? Usually, the person in charge is the one punished for poor judgment. I only watched a few episodes of the Apprentice, but I got that much.

Also, nice to know you are officially on record as believing the President of the United states is not responsible for the health and welfare of the people he serves.

some good quotes like "greatest error is not to move", "if you need to be right before you move, you will never win" from michael ryan. could be talking about "MA" "fighting" and in that case I think we'd agree. Can't stand there, doing nothing, claiming protective devices don't help, pointing fingers in an emergency, etc. Not sure about the Sweden situation. That sounds like the USA. USA death toll estimates keep climbing. Trump said 70k+. Birx said 100-240k. Of course nobody knows, and loosening restrictions and people's behavior has to change the model "inputs".

Went to the park this weekend, wore a simple fabric mask. It was so crowded, most people weren't wearing masks but did seem to try to stay 6ft apart (Except on the single track bike/hike trails where I was, ugh. I moved over as far as I could, but not everyone has this etiquette/consideration).

Yesterday, the WH raised the estimate to 100K. If the death rate is increasing anywhere, we'll easily reach that number --since we are losing more than 1K people daily, and most are not from NY. At this point, they're just a statistic.

We have to wait to see what happens with the loosening of restrictions. Yesterday was a very different day from two Sundays ago. Instead of ambulance sirens, people were blasting music from their yards. Lots of people were outside --most wearing masks, but you can't always stay 6 feet away from others while walking or riding on a path. We'll see in a few weeks, what the results are. If there's a resurgence, there might be more restrictions. It's a risk, but not the same as reopening in states where rates are going up.

Anyway, the hospital ship has left --and is still functional--, the temporary hospital at the convention center has been closed, and the Central Park temporary hospital has no more patients. It will be left there in case of a new surge.
People who do not have symptoms can now get tested for the antibody at any urgent care center. The NYC subway is closed for four hours in the morning so that the cars can be disinfected. Six states have also formed a consortium to buy ppes and medical equipment together, aopt competing with each other (and the federal government) on ebay, etc.

It's not all bad news.

Glad it’s getting better there.

The curve isn’t flat here in NC yet according to seven day moving averages but is projected to be on the downward trend soon.

The outdoor spaces are so full now. It’s scary and understandable and cool to see all at once
