I grew beard when I was young so I could looked old. When I get older, I like to shave my face clean so I can look young.

Why does someone want to grow beard in his old age? Your thought?

don't have any idea about the motivation to do that


i thought there was a chinese tradition of not growing facial hair while your parents were alive
(maybe so the parents don't feel really old...)

Direkt related to martial arts, can a big bushy beard act as chin protective against a punch? But for sure such a big beard could be grabbed and so to ones disadvantage in close combat situations?

Beard or not, should it be about looks rather that of practicality ?

- was young, I don't mind to train Taiji slow because I knew I could move fast.
- am older, I like to train Taiji fast, because fast = young, healthy, strong, ...

Am I the only person who think this way?

LIke to go fast when needed! otherwise take your time to explode when necessary i.e. issue force
It may depend on the social milieu. Wu Tunan was a clever bastard as I said previously but he needed to play a part of consciousness that never died so he got to manipulate the milieu along with his social status.

Beards are popular now but that wasn't always so. I heard that men grew beards after 50 because they no longer cared what their wives thought of their appearance. And a lot of men hate to shave.

Come on, 12!? Just trim it, or keep a stubble and you’ll look 21, that’s still young.....(maybe the writer of that list switched the numbers. It should be - look as21, and be in point 12)

However looking as a twelve year old and manhandling some burly bearded rough’n tough guy could look cool.

Last time I had my hair cut, the girl asked me how old I was. I told her I was 20 years young than my true age. She believed me. It makes me feel great for many days.
