My condolences for your friend.
My best friend from high school died during one of my tours in Afghanistan. Oddly, it hit me harder than what was going on around me at the time.
It was a heart attack. He walked out onto the front yard, turned to his neighbor, and said, "I don't feel well." Then he hit the ground. He was 44.
