Yep, in S. Italy it's pasta fagioli. The more money, the more meat until there's almost no difference between peasant and royal food. In the US, even the poor want to eat "high on the hog." How many people here eat chicken feet, and forget about tripe, testicles, or tails. My point is that "cheapest" may not be the best way to describe what one wants when it comes to nutrition. If someone can afford it, buy the best food that you like.
