Where does most people's 'gut' come from? The messages they are slowly drip fed every day by the media, which in the UK has been demonising immigrants, europe and foreigners for decades as the source of all the problems for the working man of England.

Already many smaller industries have gone to the wall in Britain because of the problems exporting to Europe. They're all profitable because of 30 years of being able to trade directly with Europe with no barries, now the barriers we
asked for make it impossible/not profitable - they're all small industries, but when you add them all up together it forms a massive impact that bleeds out of the economy - fishing, (shell fish in particular is banned for export now, not just impractical), the equestrian industry, musicians, cheese exports, etc... MIchael Gove may have said 'we've had enough of experts', but what he really meant was 'we've had enough of exports'.
But the big one is financial services (which made up 11% of our GDP last year), which the government somehow sacrificed to save fishing (less than 2% GDP) while simultaneous destroying fishing. Amsterdam just took over from London as the largest share trading centre in Europe. That is a massive change that was unthinkable a few years ago.

The person who got what he wants out of this is Putin. He got a weakened Europe and a weakened UK. His next step will be to weaken the UK further by pushing for Scottish Independence. And you can look forward to Trump 2024 thanks to Vladimir.

. From a political perspective, what's clear is that there are only more Republicans who would not vote for Trump than there were in November. So, imo, all another party (whether center-right, libertarian, or Trump-led "patriot" party) will do is reduce or disperse the Republican votes --even if not a single one votes for a Democrat.
