Dumb. Austria and Eastern Europe are struggling with Covid because they have low vaccination rates, not because the vaccines don't work. Austria has the second-lowest vaccination rate (after Lichtenstein) in Western Europe and the highest Covid death rate. Most of the deaths are in the areas under the influence of the far-right and anti-vax "Freedom Party." Just like "freedom" loving Trumpers are the ones getting hardest hit in the States.

Get vaccinated, worry about everything else after.

1 Effect of Vitamin D3 Supplementation vs Placebo on Hospital Length of Stay in
2 Patients with Severe COVID-19: A Multicenter, Double-blind, Randomized
3 Controlled Trial

4
5 Short title: Vitamin D3 Supplementation in COVID-19
6
7 Igor H. Murai, PhD*; Alan L. Fernandes, PhD*; Lucas P. Sales, MSc; Ana J. Pinto, BSc;
8 Karla F. Goessler, PhD; Camila S. C. Duran, MD; Carla B. R. Silva, MD; André S.
9 Franco, MD; Marina B. Macedo, MD, MSc; Henrique H. H. Dalmolin, MD; Janaina
10 Baggio, MD; Guilherme G. M. Balbi, MD; Bruna Z. Reis, PhD; Leila Antonangelo,
11 MD, PhD; Valeria F. Caparbo, PhD; Bruno Gualano, PhD; Rosa M. R. Pereira, MD,
12 PhD.

1 Key points:
2
3 Question: Can vitamin D3 supplementation reduce hospital length of stay in
4 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19?
5
6 Findings: In this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 240
7 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19, a single dose of 200,000 IU of vitamin D3
8 supplementation was safe and effective in increasing 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels, but
9 did not significantly reduce hospital length of stay (hazard ratio, 1.12) or any other
10 clinically-relevant outcomes compared with placebo.
11
12 Meaning: Vitamin D3 supplementation does not confer therapeutic benefits among
13 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19.

There are some very limited studies that suggest vitamin D deficiency might lead to a very small increase in the chance of contracting Covid (a few percentage points), and I am glad there are currently large and well designed studies investigating it now. But, there is no evidence to indicate significant prophylactic or any therapeutic effects from vitamin D supplementation or natural normal levels.

Do "vaccines" need vitamin D? Would that mean that other vaccines are ineffective if there's a deficiency?

Best I know is that vitamin D is said to enhance the immune system -in general. I think it's a good idea to find out if one is deficient; but, that is just part of strengthening one's immune system. At least as important is diet, exercise, and proper rest are at least as important. And, of course, staying away from crowds of people is an effective way of reducing exposure.

Anyway, 60% of the US is fully vaccinated. Worldwide, 3.5 billion (with a b) people have been fully vaccinated.

The supposition is that as part of the societal imperative, nutrition is a given, where we are all supposed to be receiving the daily dosage of x vitamins but when they actually assess blood levels, Vitamin D comes up as a below daily dosage and those who do not appear to be responding to the vaccine, they show this Vitamin D deficiency. So much for the milk industry of today, where despite all the advertising of cows' milk, we come up short. That tells us that grain fed cows lack the nutrients for providing Vitamin D and we end up getting the GMO version (I am guessing here ;D ) which suppresses Vitamin D "synthesis'.

Just like those who are immuno-compromosed need boosters and even Vitamin supplementaion because they body is lacking x nutrients to sustain itself
The problem is that the vaccines are less effective. They do work to a degree based on age, health status, dietary choices and disease symptomology.

you have 10 people and you give them the same green tea to assist with the flu. They will not all respond the same way. After 3 days, 4 people will show no flu symptoms, 2 people will need another 2 days to recover, the other 3 will need the whole 10 days and the 1 will not show any response but orange jusice or grapefruit juice may just do the job.

Cows milk does not naturally contain vitamin d, no matter what their diet. Milk is fortified with vitamin d artificially.

As far as green tea and the flu, I'd be interested in reading the research behind that.

cow milk should be banned At all, as a humans food,

green tea doesn`t need special research. It contain a lot of antioxidants .
yeniseri example is to show that "anything "(in positive sense) go.
Again- immune system is the key.

So please pardon my ignorance but what do antioxidants do and how does that help fight the flu?

While there is some truth in this statement, it misses the mark. How much do you think vitamin D supplementation reduces the risk of contracting or having serious complications from Covid? Now, how much do you think a vaccine reduces these same things? The evidence to date suggests that at best proper vitamin D levels might shift this a few percentage points, or for a very small number of people depending on the study's design. Vaccines are far more effective. There really is no comparison even given the most generous reading of the available data on vitamin D.

yes or no
I don`t know,
One thing is 100% sure: better keep vitD on good level, ;)

Speakin` about contemporary minerals/vitamins supplementation -
I use cordyceps/reishi/shaga mix with vitC, D and Mg for immune sytem fortification.

It's not about whether to take Vitamin D3 or the Vaccine. Its take vitamin D3 & the Vaccine.

The theory been that both covid and the vaccine deplete Vitamin D reserves. So if you already have sub optimal or depletion levels of vitamin d then both the vaccine and the virus will give you a whack.

Pascals Wager. (kind of)

What have you got to lose from taking Vitamin D. A few pennies.

What have you got to gain..? potentially your life.

To reiterate - it's not about whether to take Vitamin D3 or the Vaccine. Its take vitamin D3 & the Vaccine.
