A great athlete, but not really qing gong.

Meeks has some good information on how to train qing gong.

He Jing Han, of Taiwan, is known to have the ability.

A few other people on the board have commented on what it looks like in practice.

I've had a little of the training and what tiny amount of ability I had resulted in an abnormally fast rate of movement over short distances. When younger, people told me I blurred when moving at full speed. I could only do this at distances of about 7m, about 20 feet, or less. I never figured out the high jumping part.

The thread title was meant to be tongue in cheek.

It’s just a nice video.

But if there were qing gong, I guess one should be able to high jump or pole vault or long jump.

That's him.

About 20 years ago I saw some video of him picking up a girl and running like a deer along with some other stuff. You won't find any of that online as far as I know. Wan Lai Sheng had it too.

The consensus among people who've witnessed it is that a practitioner can jump with straight legs up to the high of a second story landing. Roughly 9-11 feet.

The main issue is the extended training times, probably due to poorly organized training. All the conversations go something like, "I started in my early 20's and didn't have anything until my mid 40's." That's one of the reasons why you'd never see it in the Olympics.

There’s a video somewhere on YouTube with the late Xinyi master “Chainsaw” Qian Zhaohong demonstrating an animal form and suddenly jumps high and far from a standing position. That’s the most impressive lightness skill demonstration I’ve seen so far. Maybe someone has the patience to dig it out?

that sounds cool to see.

in the meantime, walking a circle on top of bricks, a basin, or other objects looks super fun and challenging.

All of that is foundational to the training as it builds the structure in the legs so you can absorb the kinetic load after landing from the jump.

As to how to trigger it? Seems to be the result of training very specific drills. Sadly, I do not seem to know the right ones.

I'd love to learn from anyone who knows. That's for sure.

The descriptions I've had from eyewitnesses indicate it is not specific to any one system. Tai chi, Shaolin, Ziranmen, and Ba Gua practitioners have all been described as having the ability.

Dig a hole
Carry a calf in your arms
Jump out 10 times each day
In 10 years you will have it
You must not change the calf

You are allowed to feed the calf
Kettle bells don’t gain weight over time
That is the point

I mean just a wild thought here, but for the price of the care and feeding and housing of a cow, you could probably purchase an assortment of differently weighted kettlebells.
