Well I guess that answers the question: what would the richest man on the planet do - end world hunger or buy Twitter as his own vanity project?

His money, his choice. Want to complain? Make more money than him and do it better

Right on! That's my type of reply.

The negativity is all about jealousy.

I thought you guys would all be about FREEDOM of speech - lol. Typical. What you mean is freedom of speech you agree with. ;D ::)

I honestly don't know how much inclusion you need to be shown to be satisfied and that's also something I no longer care about :D

What was it
Free speech is ok with me as long as you fight my enemy

There is freedom of speech
Just go to a different platform

Nobody has to listen to anyone's BS, right
Open your mouth and expose yourself to the possibility of being censored

Graham how about you open up a forum about encouraging countries to leave the EU, a conservative one

Why not, I thought you like freedom of speech or is it only that which already aligns with your opinion

Typical attitude of a blind hypocrite

Freedom of speech was in no way, shape or form influenced by Elon's move

I don't care about his persona or cult following, yet people are always quick to put down the successful ones out of jealousy and fear they do not yet see in themselves

Well you certainly have a lot to say about things you "don't care about".

Pretty sure it's all just to shut down that kid that was tracking his jet and posting the movements.

I mean he certainly is a champion of free speech! Of that we can be certain!

Elon Musk on Saturday criticized Twitter for "failing to adhere to free speech principles," which he said "fundamentally undermines democracy."

The Tesla CEO, who has previously referred to himself as a "free speech absolutist," has a track record of silencing critics with threats of lawsuits and firing employees who disagree with him.

"Seems @elonmusk is a free speech absolutist… unless it involves safety concerns IMO," tweeted John Bernal, a former Tesla employee who was fired after he posted YouTube reviews of Tesla's autopilot functions on his channel, AI Addict.

Bernal's video reviews contained only end-user features and included footage of the car's autopilot disengaging, which caused Bernal to take control to avoid dangerous situations, including a possible crash.

"I was fired from Tesla in February with my YouTube being cited as the reason why. Even though my uploads are from my personal vehicle off company time or property with software I paid for," Bernal said in a video update posted earlier this month.

Good idea, lemme go talk to my Dad about opening a blood diamond mine in south africa so I can inherit enough money to buy companies other people built to make people think I'm smart.

ORIGAMI! How dare you criticise MASTER ELON!

"When I was a child, there was a guy called Victor Kiam who owned Remington, and he would personally feature in the firm’s electric razor adverts, going: “I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company.” It would be nice to see Musk do something similar. “I liked calling innocent people paedos so much, I bought the company.”

Yeah Graham, I just couldn't stand the smell of your words and just had to say something

To think that it means I care about Elon is misleading

Would I like his money if it fell into my lap
Sure why not
Or maybe I would be overwhelmed and wouldn't know how to handle it
I don't know
It is what it is for everyone involved

Origami, if your Dad can do such a thing make sure to ask for me as well
Those people will be exploited either way
Hey maybe the even got Coca Cola or Sprite or Milka or Mountain Dew or another product made only available via capitalism

Haven't read any of the linked articles, mentioning out of fairness

If one calls defending higher ups bootlicking, then that is pretty sad

Go ahead, make yourself a petty robber

But then you won't be better than them

Hmmmm

LOL FAIR ENOUGH!

This begins to open an existential can of worms beyond legacy billionaires and their moves to consolidate power, moving into the exploitative nature of capitalism. I mean, all of those soft drinks are just sugar water that are horrible for our health. Do we really need them? Should we really praise the system that exploits our fundamental human weaknesses for profit just because it provides a choice of poisons to administer ourselves?

I mean it's exploitation on both ends. The workers that create the products living on the bare minimum the company can give someone and still have them show up for a shift, and the consumers who are handing over their cash for the privilege of poor health.
