1. This age of kaliyuga has brought those who wish to turn back the clock and return us to the 1700s in USA where women do not own their bodies but those who scheme to pass laws to control them as a powerbase for control, has been looming for a time and now any laws that they do not like will be put down and hopefully, the US American people will see the truth before it is too late ??? The reasoning according to SCOTUS (how simplistic) is that because abortion was not mentioned in the Constitution, the reason for the overturn of Roe v. Wade is self evident...... Because contraception isn't in the Constitution, what does that means? What about LGBTQ not being in the Constitution......
2. The LGBTQ community/people will be next, sadly, but let work to stop this fascism. Who would have imagined that US America would start the programme of banning books because it tells the truth about a society. No one blinks an eye
3. They say the banning of contraception is on someone's agenda but I believe these are just smokescreens for a nefarious plat as uttered by Ben Wattenburg on a certain aspect of US society that many refuse to accept.
Funny thing is that this hushed up secret is in plain sight for none to see because of interest form the hood.
4. TIme will tell so who's next?

Forced birth in a country that doesn't have mandatory maternity leave or universal healthcare.

The number of men dancing around on Twitter thrilled by the reversal of Roe versus Wade makes me want to vomit. Please pipe down, we are NEVER going to have to make this choice.

So, to sum up the Supreme Court’s week: life begins at conception and ends in a mass shooting.

If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control.

Welcome to The Handmaid's Tale.

(all these are quote from other people, but it sums it up for me).

It is interesting

The Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929 amended the law in England and Wales to create the offence of child destruction – in cases where any person "who, with intent to destroy the life of a child capable of being born alive, by any wilful act causes a child to die before it has an existence independent of its mother". For the purposes of this Act, a child whose mother has been pregnant for 28 weeks is deemed "capable of being born alive".

Why stop at 28 weeks?

Doctors now consider 22 weeks the earliest gestational age when a baby is "viable," or able to survive outside the womb. But this is still extremely premature, and a baby born at this age will need a great deal of medical attention. Even if he survives, the risk of permanent disability is very high.

seems kinda arbitrary... :-\

In the US there are state and federal laws .
The law as written was not supported by the constitution.
When it was challenged, why it went to the SCOTUS .

They found they could not legally support it and so It was given back to the states.

Each state can now make its own law reflecting the will of the people who live in it.

Is this not democracy

Indeed, should be legal up until actual birth.
Because some times you need to do that to save lives.

This is not democracy. This is activist judges working the will of oligarchs.

I love you windy.

Any us foreign policy is evidence of their incompetence we evil, but standard right wing trampling of individual rights and access to medical care is a good thing.

You are a partisan puppet.

Well there is this :-\

From a country that has national healthcare, and maternity leave.

Quite interesting

Abortion in Germany is forbidden by law but without punishment in the first trimester under the condition of mandatory counseling and is permitted later in pregnancy in cases that the pregnancy poses an important danger to the physical or mental health of the pregnant woman.

"Welcome to The Handmaid's Tale"

Is it a Handmaid's Tale" in Germany ?

Why set a time, on when it can be done...?

Looks like some are updating

BERLIN — Lawmakers voted on Friday to end a Nazi-era ban on the advertisement of abortion services,
a measure that had effectively criminalized doctors who provided information about the procedure.

Interesting comment, considering I consider both parties to be the same....

You seem to be very ignorant, not here to educate you...

Abortion is still legal in the US. Nothing has really changed..

With the exception it is no longer supported by federal law.
States are now free to write their own laws according to the people living in them...

Roe V Wade, was always known and considered bad jurisprudence even by those who drafted it..

Edward Lazarus, a former law clerk to Roe's author, Justice Harry Blackmun, who writes:
As a matter of constitutional interpretation and judicial method, Roe borders on the indefensible. I say this as someone utterly committed to the right to choose, as someone who believes such a right has grounding elsewhere in the Constitution instead of where Roe placed it, and as someone who loved Roe's author like a grandfather. . . . .

What, exactly, is the problem with Roe? The problem, I believe, is that it has little connection to the Constitutional right it purportedly interpreted. A constitutional right to privacy broad enough to include abortion has no meaningful foundation in constitutional text, history, or precedent. ...

Even at the time of writing....

1. The Court's decision in Roe v. Wade exceeded its constitutional authority.

Under the legal system established by the U.S. Constitution, the power to make laws is vested in Congress and retained by state legislatures.

It is not the role of the Supreme Court to substitute the policy preferences of its members for those expressed in laws enacted by the people's elected representatives.

The role of the judiciary in constitutional review is to determine if the law being challenged infringes on a constitutionally protected right.

It was challenged, and found as many knew that it was not based on good law...

The "law" allowing abortion, is now something that those living within a state can vote on...Abortion is still legal in the US depending on the "State" that one lives in..

A situation in which abortion is prohibited absolutely and everywhere in these United States would be entirely consistent with the Constitution.
So would a situation in which there are no restrictions on abortion at all.

This is a matter for legislators, not a matter for judges.

Your command of logic is indeed stunning.

Glad you took a break from fluffing Putin long enough to enlighten us with your perspective.

It's funny that you say you're against both parties but your views line up 100% with the looniest corner of just one of them. Our professed values and displayed values do not always align, apparently.

Here's a little information about partial birth abortions. I mean, it's pretty much exactly like the conservatives like to spin it, a woman carries a fetus for 9 months then wakes up on the day of delivery with cold feet and decides to murder the baby. That's the future liberals want. Conservatives like to wait till their school age for sporting reasons. Moving targets are more of a challenge. I'm sure you will read it thoroughly and give it careful consideration because that's the kind of intellectual integrity and commitment to the truth you have habitually displayed.

https://www.npr.org/2006/02/21/5168163/ ... -from-spin

Women have lost federal protection of their fundamental rights. Anyone who is not scared cold by how easily that can be stripped away is just happy the hand holding the dog's leash is siccing it on someone else and doesn't understand how easily it can turn again and rend you.

your ignorance is not.

seems to be part of your sitch

It is a discussion no?

People have different view points....

Putin ?

FWIW

"Abortion in Russia is legal as an elective procedure up to the 12th week of pregnancy, and in special circumstances at later stages."

The time seems to be arbitrary, depending on medical science, or religious societal underpinnings.

States in the US, run by legislators voted in by their constituents
the ability to have an abortion was made harder or easier adhering to the law of the land not legally supported by the constitution .
Only a matter of time when it would be challenged as now.

The law has been corrected. They now have full control over their view points
on this..In some states, its legal in others not...
