survival of the friendliest

TL;DW: humans got to the top not by being fittest, but by being friendliest (social and worked together, made advanced technology, etc.) and did "self domestication" (domesticated our wild selves into like domesticated, friendly dogs). friendliest = fittest. but anyone not "in your tribe" is "dehumanized" and seen as less than human (which "justifies" things like genocide of Native Americans by Europeans in their minds).

cricisms: "bad" or "soft" science .... hey "there is physics, and everything else is stamp collecting" so whatever yeah, not physics, but interesting idea.

bonus, gratuitous video, speaking of friendly

Which makes the recent advancements in long-distance travel (with the side effect of inter-tribal relations/families/"mixed" children) and in global communications (internet) a fascinating study on where the evolution will take us from here.

guess it just makes us have conspiracy theories faster. ;D

but really, maybe people are more likely to see other races/cultures as "in their tribe" ... at least it happens in sports to an extent.

Interesting that you mentional that! Citizenship and nationality in the modern age has blurred "the tribe" concept up to a point.
Went to Northern Europe (Norway, Sweden) a fw years back and was surprised to see a fair amount of 'foreigners' living especially in Sweden (Ethiopians, Arabs, Nigerians, Asians) living in their respective communities but still part of the greater nation state. The only major objecive problems were the locals (some and a vocal presence of Far RIghtists) objection of non European peoples in their midst. You can see it at the train station i(CentralTerminalen, Sweden where I thought I was in a New York or Chicago bus stop
In this day and age, it is the colonial empires that left their "homeland" and went to other areas to take over, steal and otherwise misappropriate other nations physical and human resources so it made sense that whenthe empires broke down, these people migrated to more friendler countries (perception and illusion ;D ) despite the extremes in climate and location from their native habitat.
Image a NIgerian, Ethiopian and South Asian on their wish list actually desiring to go to a few of the coldest places on earth (Norway, Finland, Sweden, etc)

Someone has said that competition is the law of the jungle; cooperation is the law of civilization.
