Here's part of the eclipse's path. It's of the "total" eclipse and where it will be visible. However, just because you're not in its direct path, doesn't mean the eclipse won't be visible. It just won't be total.

my 80something % level of totality wasn't even as dark as dusk. but it looked darn cool through the glasses. same with the shadows.

meanwhile on television news, the revelers were partying like it's 1999 or like the aliens and the gods arrived all at once to greet us. hugging and kissing strangers. on lsd trips with no lsd. giving non stop speeches about world peace and the universe is One. mmmkayyyyy

Probably just starved for regular human interaction - too much internets... Were they all under 50? :)
