The Rum Soaked Fist

Rum, beer, movies, nice websites, gaming, etc., without interrupting the flow of martial threads.

Rum soaked fist is a very good name for the forum. :)

Do you usually give opinions without knowing the facts? Well....why does my ego have to take an opinion without a base?

Why should anyone, really?

Anyway, arent you the 41 year old who drinks and dials and lives with a bunch of agressive schoolkids?

ego has nothing to do with it. it was several members of the staff that pushed for that name, and with good reason, as it captures the spirit of the board quite well.

if it's too stupid for you i'm sure you can find your way to .net.

The fact is... "The Rum Soaked Fist" is a sucky name for a MA or any other forum. IE... It doesn't make any sense. What's the base for it genious? Wanna fill us all in? I really could care less what it's called though. As long as the info and banter is there. I was simply stateing my opinion as I've never been one to just go with everyone else and say I like something when I don't.

Also what's your non-point about my past? Why don't you fuck off and stay out of it... 'K?

First ban of the new forum??

lol.

Allow me to be the voice of reason:
Rum soaked fist is a moniker which Felipe self identifies with, since he is a Hispanian, drinks mighty amounts of rum, and does xingyi.
His fist is literally rum soaked.
The name for the forum really honors Felipe and thats good because Felipe is the driving force behind the forum and deserves much respect.

Thanks Mix.

Thanks for explaining it in a cool and non confrontational way. YOU should be a mod.

Cheers!

Jake....buddy...if what you like is the martial content and the ambient here, then you dont have to complain about a name.

In fact, thats one of the main reasons behind the forum...its not the name, but the people in it and the info they provide. I noted your past because even though you're 41, you dont act your age sometimes. It cool, it happens to the best of us.

Chill out for a bit and dont bash on the name. It has a very obvious meaning for all of the old timers here.

Fixed. ;D

Listen Jake, there would NEVER be a name that EVERYONE liked. Never ever. It is simply not possible. Think about it.

Now, vast majority here likes the new name. More importantly, the creators of the forum like the new name. The change has taken place. What is your point? Do you really think that just because YOU don't like it, it's going to change? Fat chance.

Ah, actually, the name is not so much about me anymore. First time I heard that was the choice for the name, I didn't want it because *I* had been using that name (given to me by Walter) for a few years.

But it's not so much "hey, let's honor Felipe" (Do that when I'm dead, please). But more of a "It's a cool name that everyone with time in the forum will recognize, and it has a martial tone with a drinking tone, like the Main forum and off topic"...

..thing...

Anyway, we had two names. One very normal and simple like this one, and another, more esoteric one. We will have both. And we are thinking on the other name, because we don't want to step on any toes.

OK OK... Guys... I'm sorry I don't like the name. OK? :-X

I'll probably learn to love it and will be defending it against all evil nay-sayers in the future! ;D

Cheers guys... Didn't mean for this to start blowing up.

Geez, I need a drink now. ;)
