now he did co-opt a form and turned it into an interpretive dance set.
to many tai chi practitioners, this is both reviling and excellent all at the same breath!
terrible that he co-opts from martial art, but at the same time, meh, it's cool.

i get that it's a dance contest. and i don't really give a shit that he adapted a taiji form into a dance routine. i just really didn't like the performance at all.
and for the record, i've never done a taiji move on the dance floor. cabbage patch? yes. running man? yes. but never taiji.
