Name change suggestion

Postby Bär on Tue May 13, 2008 9:10 am

In the interest of avoiding confusion, if you've 'permanently' changed your name it would probably be a good idea to put your old board name in your sig for a while until people get used to it. I've already seen a few non-jokey names in the Great Old Ones category who I don't recognize and this was a source of confusion for most and an agitating factor for a few on the last move.

Yeah, I'm having trouble recognizing who you are. Umlauts don't help matters either with so many kids using l33t speak these days...

I'm just glad some of you people won't be able to change your damn forum names like socks anymore... -twisted- -twisted- -twisted-

BTW, there's an ability to apply for the Great Old One status... It's $19.95 plus S&H, but it's worth it. ;D

That was a feature I really dug. For the most part it was pretty obvious who they were. :-/

Among the other things that drove me nuts on the "other site" was the number of name changes and their frequency. It was like an in joke for the regulars, but if you didn't spend a lot of time there, you had no idea who was posting half the time.

I spend plenty of time on the flowah and I didn't catch half the name changes....it's obnoxious. I'm against it.

I was pretty abusive with the name changes, but I am fine with it not being allowed.

I am just Royal Dragon every where I go...except Kung Fu Magazine's main forum, where that user name will not work, so I post as RD's Alias - 1A

I think I am the only Royal Dragon anywhere actually, so if you see that username, it's most likely me.
