France vs. USA

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

during holiday time,sure...truckers, farmers you name it will blockade ports, roads whatever on a fairly regular basis and "Les Fliques"(sp?) just stand and watch...whether the new Premier of France will make good on election promises to sort out the unions is another thing.

oh, I forgot to mention France's unilateral ass-kissing of Mugabe not so long ago...

If you like Eva Green you should get this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0309987/

Although France has socialized medicine which is absolutely crucial for a moral and humane society, I'd still prefer living in the USA; at least until we become a fascist entity that is.

::)

That only works in the States bro.

In Europe it's your city first then your country second and everyone else is a tourist.

If you haven't lived there before I'd still go though. Americans should live abroad at least once.

Sorry, Eva Green's cleavage has completely derailed this thread for me.

Har har.

If you must know, Scottish-Taiwanese born and raised in Hong Kong sound like an American apparently and have lived in Europe on more than one occassion. Never came across the treatment you described though (oh except for "what's it like living in Japan" from American tourists. Maybe therein lies the problem.).

I'd take France because the health care is free, the social contract is better, education is better, holidays are longer, You get paid more for the same job and you do less overall.

Also, you have access to the French commonwealth for vacations! w00t! that's 142 countries and most of em are tropical! mmmmm tropical french chicks. yah.

conversely, the US has New York..which has some nice bits in manhattan. and it has san francisco, an albeit mighty gay city, but actually quite nice, probably more gays in cali than in all of france together though.

there are quite a few nice places in the US, but it ain't no France!
Coconuts. Bananas. Mangos. Rice. Beans. Water. It's good.

The Pyrenees, the French Alps, the Mediterranean.

Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cotes du Rhone, Beaujolais.

Corsica!

I've only been to SF and the surrounding region but that was awesome (and very strange).
