Yeah, that old guy was really a piece of work. He studies an an Indian martial art that enables him to take on multiple attackers. They're lucky he didn't go on the warpath. What did he think he was doing.

Yeah, those 20 boys were innocent of committing the facecrime of looking like racist thugs. That's a good thing, though ... not being racist doesn't deserve congratulations or a pat on the back.

Anyway, since none of them were doing anything wrong, I've always wondered what they were doing right. Yeah, he was standing there, but why? Was it to show that he wouldn't be intimidated by the Indian man --while his boys were looking on. Well, okay, but ... it wasn't exactly heroic. Then again, I'm kinda old-fashioned, so I'd even respected the elderly when I could easily defy them. But, luckily, Sandmann and his crew showed restraint. But, you know, if he had helped the old gent then, that whole picture would have been read differently. Imagine the caption, "White Catholic Trump supporters join Native American."

Afa "we have to figure it out," if you mean figure out why people who saw those images thought what they did, that's not hard at all. It had a bit to do with the Trumpwear, but even more to do with the fact that they were White kids confronting a single/lone/elderly Brown man. It does look more like a lynch mob than an Indian attack. The crowd reaction was the fear that the worst expectations about Trump youth were confirmed. Sorry.

If it's about figuring out how not to profile people from their dress or political affiliation, cool. Stereotypes and stereotyping are not good. It's so very unfair.

At 2:47 it shows the Indian group walking directly into the Covington Kids, passing by an open lane toward the memorial. The Indians confronted the Covington Kids.

Sandmann never moved. Phillips walked directly to him and began banging a drum inches from his face. Which is totally fine. Sandmann stood there smiling. Which is also totally fine.

Further demonstration at 4:43 that Phillips did not try to move past Sandmann. Which is fine. But Sandmann did not confront Phillips, or if it's phrased that way, it was a mutual confrontation...that was totally fine. Neither did anything wrong during the meeting/confrontation.

At 6:47, the Indian in the red hat told one of the boys this was not his land and he should return to Europe. Sandman appears to be gesturing for his classmate to not argue with the Indian telling him to get out of America.

Good points Steve. I find it fascinating how the right wants to paint those who vilified the boys online as evil but these same people never came to a defense of the Sandy Hook victims and their families. I recall a certain a poster state that he was proud when the Sandy Hook families didn't get the changes in the laws they wanted.

I also recall another poster state that Sandy Hook was a hoax thereby parroting the same line as those calling for voilence against the victim's families.

Maybe if those Sandy Hook kids were wearing MAGA hats things would be different.
