Looking for good example of neigong/IP in use!

First and foremost i am a taiji guy and so i dont claim to have any understanding of any others arts! A quick disclaimer there! ;D

I am always looking for info and clips of masters of any IMA honestly demonstrating their skills.

I am also unaware of the names of good masters in xingyiquan, baguazhuang, baijiquan or any other IMA. Basically i am hoping some people can give me the name of masters they know/feel can demonstrate the goods...on film! As i am living behind the Great Firewall i can't get access to Youtube so if the name were in Chinese characters that would be preferable so i can search youku.com.

Since this is in the video section i will start by way of offering a couple of names and clips.

In Xingyiquan i found this clip by 韩星垣先生 (Master Han Xingyuan)

http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTIzODk2NjA4.html

In Taijiquan a clip i posted a while back of 李储功先生 (Master Li Chugong)

I like your video. Its good (ok I only watched snippets as I'm stuck in a Polish airport that has crap wifi). I do question what in the video was IP (I think neigong is an incorrect term here). I could quite clearly see what he was doing and its all explainable and replicable by anyone who has a bit of time.

Fundamentally, this is what things look like when a high importance is placed on pushing but not struggling.

Do you think that Neigong or IP should not be explainable or replicable then?

thanks for the vids

For it to qualify for a specific name, no, it should not be explainable or replicable by non CMAists (or IMAists). If it’s not different, just normal, why are we calling it something else? CMA eletism?

Just here for a sec so didn't have time to watch the other videos. The following is titled "Internal Power". Basically in simpler terms, it's just efficient use of structure combined with good whole-body coordination and the ability to utilize the Kua and Dantian areas better. Take note that master Zhou is showing it very slowly - in a fight you can use that movement explosively. I don't know if that's the common interpretation for that move in Baji. Zhou had several IMA teachers who had greatly influenced him as well. But a good Baji player should be able to do this too, I think. Zhou btw is about 1.65m in height, and Itai, the student he's demonstrating with, is 1.96m in height. The difference here from normal uprooting is that: 1. As mentioned, it's demonstrated slowly (harder). 2. It's from a position in which someone is forcing a great, constant resistance in a state in which the teacher is at a great disadvantage in terms of the mechanical level he needs to generate.

I the clips were posted as examples of what i am looking for in comparison to someone like Rick Young ( a man i greatly admire both for his skills and his attitude towards the arts - when i return to Edinburgh i intend to check him out). Unfortunately the only clips i have of Rick Young this side of the Great Firewall are JKD trapping: http://www.56.com/u28/v_NDQ5OTU4MjU.html

and Kali knife work: http://www.56.com/u95/v_NDk5NTY4MDQ.html

IMHO Rick is very skilled but what is displayed in the clips i posted in the OP is different.

I was hoping people would suggest names of masters (IN CHINESE) that they felt had "unusual" skills.

Jonathan, thanks for the clip for Master Zhou but unfortunately, as i posted in the OP, i CANNOT watch Youtube! Do you know his name in Chinese characters? 周...

Allanf, this is Zhou's Chinese youtube channel:
http://you.video.sina.com.cn/m/1677776325
I'm afraid that particular video isn't on there, but there are many other nice ones :-)

One of the best teachers who commonly show good "IP" on video is Guo Shilei. He has a youtube channel though. Do try searching his name: 郭石磊. He has some very good videos that are well-worth watching. Among other things, he can be seen tossing around people in the air unto chairs and couches with great ease. He also shows combative applications and tactics for IMA.

What about the late Wang Chieh?
Does he qualify?

Master Wang Chieh just passed away. Such a great loss.

That's sad news :(

I witnessed Mr. Wang doing some pretty amazing things, and all his students had some really good taiji skill, so it's not like they were noobs.

Another dragon has moved on, one less link to the gong fu world of old.
